Some things are easier to write than to say.
Scribbles for Mom is a place to put the words you've been carrying — whether they're meant for your mom, someone who felt like one, someone you miss, or simply someone you need to write to.
Why this exists
It began with all the little things I still wanted to tell her.
I came up with Scribbles for Mom after losing my mother-in-law in 2025. I missed having her here—my sounding board, confidante, and best friend. I missed being able to talk to her on the phone or send her a quick text about something my kids did or my husband said.
I missed that connection, and before long I had built up quite a collection of things I wished I could tell her.
My hope is that anyone who has lost a loved one—or has someone in their life, even at a distance, they still need to speak to—can use this space to give those words somewhere to go. Maybe something was left unspoken. Maybe it feels too late to say it. Whatever the reason, those words still matter.
And when Scribbles are shared, I hope others can find solace in knowing they are not alone. There is something unique and special about the human experience: our ability to find connection, and even camaraderie, among strangers.

The idea
Not every letter needs an envelope.
Sometimes you want to say thank you. Sometimes you're angry. Sometimes you miss someone. Sometimes there are things you never got the chance to say at all.
A Scribble doesn't have to be polished, profound, or even complete. It can be a letter, a memory, a sentence, an apology, a joke, a confession, or simply a few words you needed somewhere outside of your own head.
It only has to be yours.
What is a Scribble?
Whatever you need it to be.
A place to remember.
Write down the tiny stories, phrases, memories, and moments you don't want time to carry away.
A place to say it.
Put words to something you've never known how to say out loud — even if no one else ever reads them.
A place to share.
If you choose, your words can become part of a collection that reminds someone else they aren't the only one carrying something.

A Scribble can stay private in your account, be submitted anonymously, or be shared with a signature. Public submissions are reviewed before they appear in Read Scribbles.
